The formal England and Chelsea captain John Terry last night announced his retirement from football after a 20-year career.
The Chelsea hit man, 37, spent last season with Aston Villa, but did not sign sign with a club for this campaign, turning down a move to Spartak Moscow last month.
John Terry Captained Chelsea and won a host of honours with chelsea , including five premier league titles and one Champions league crown. He also picked up 78 England caps.
Terry wrote on his Instagram: After 23 incredible years as a footballer, l have decided now is the right time to retire. I want to thank my amazing team-mates, coaches, managers and backroom staff, who l was honoured to work with and learn from. I look forwrad to the next chapter in my life and the challenges ahead.
