Halep Crowned wimbledon women champion
Formal Wimbledon champion Serena Williams was beaten in less an hour by Romanian Simona Halep.

The Romanian won 6-2 6-2 in less than an hour on the centre court.The American looked tense and was not in her right form as she chased a record-equalling 24th grand slam singles title but even when she began unleashing her power hitting, by then the Romanian has taken power over the first set.

The American,cheered on by Compatriot the Duchess of Susses, appeared to steady herslef at the start of the second, but dropped serve in the fifth game when she overcooked a backhand down the line.
Halep consolidated her break to move within just two games of victory and a second grand slam following her win at the French Open last year.
"It was the best match l have ever played, "says Simona Halep.

"I had nerves. My stomach wasn't well before"

"She played out of her mind,"says Williams. "I was like a deer in headlights"
