The Brazilian star offered himself to formal club as Nico Williams alternative but gets turned down by manager Hansi Flick. Barcelona are on the lookout for new left winger after missing out signing Athletic Bilbao star Williams. This reportedly let the 32yr old Al Hilal star to offer hie service to the la liga team, but manager Flick team are not considering the Brazilian.

FOOTBALL: Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has died at the age of 76.

Sven-Goran Eriksson was the first foreing manager and the man who presided over the country's so-called 'Golden Generation'during his time as an England manager. At his peak, Eriksson was one of the game's finest coaches as he collected both domestic and European honours with regularity, something he was unable to replicate with England. In January , Eriksson said he had "at best" a year to live after being diagnosed with cancer. Eriksson managed 12 clubs, including Manchester City, Leicester, Roma and Lazio, winning 18 trophies. Eriksson's years as England manager were marked by stories about his private life, including newspapers revealing relationships with television presenter Ulrika Jonsson in 2002 and former Football Association secretary Faria Alam in 2004. Eriksson resigned as Lazio manager in January 2001 to succeed Kevin Keegan as England boss. David Beckham was England captain during Eriksson's time in charge of the Three Lions

Football: Olympics Clash btw France and Argentina.

France slightly win over Argentina in the quarter-finals of the mens football at the olympics was barred by a post-match disturbance. An early goal from Jean-Philippe Mateta was enough to send Thierry Henry's side through to the semi-finals after 11-and a half minutes of additional time. Players were seen pushing and shoving each other on the pitch as some attempted to restore the peace. The disorder continued towards the tunnel before the France team re-emerged some time later to celebrate with their home fans. There had been animosity between the two sides in the build-up to the match after some Argentina players were videoed singing a racist and homophobic chant directed at France after their recent Copa America win. France advance to the final-four where they will meet Egypt, who advanced themselves by beating Paraguay 5-4 on penalties.
